• The North China University of Science and Technology (NCUST), established in 1958, is among the best places to learn in Hebei province. In 2010, Hebei Polytechnic University and the North China Coal Medical College collaborated to create the North China University of Science and Technology.
• Tangshan Coal Medical College is now the North China University of Science and Technology College of Medicine. After years of continuous work, the Medical School of North China University of Science and Technology has evolved into an integrated medical education system. Zhang Fucheng is currently serving as president of NCUST. It has nine different areas of study, out of which medicine and engineering are their main areas.

• The brand-new campus has been home to several state-of-the-art facilities, including language laboratories, multimedia classrooms, E-reading rooms, and an extensive library. The NCUST is responsible for publishing five scholarly periodicals covering natural science, medicine, and social science disciplines. These publications have achieved a national level of recognition.
• In addition to that, it has direct or indirect ties to a total of 25 affiliated hospitals around the country. The Mine Medicare Centre Training Base, which used to be part of the State Administration of Work Safety, is also a part of NCUST. 

• As a direct result of NCUST's work, both public health and preventive medicine are now among the best academic courses in the whole country. In 2015, this university and an institution in Pécs, Hungary, worked together to create the Confucius Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
• In addition, China-Hungary Medical Forum is put on every two years by NCUST and the University of Pécs.
