Counselling & Guidance

The rules governing medical entrance tests and MBBS admissions have been constantly shifting for the past few years. Medical aspirants had to appear and pass various medical entrance tests in the past to be considered for an MBBS seat selection process. These exams included deemed university medical admission exams, AIPMT, COMEDK, and CET, as well as entrance exams at the state and national levels. In addition, every exam body has its own MBBS admission counseling sessions to accept applicants into Indian medical colleges. But gradually things began to shift. The Honourable Supreme Court of India decided to require a single, national entrance exam for MBBS admission, that is NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test).

The purpose of NEET was to expedite the MBBS course admissions process. Multiple medical admission tests have been replaced by it. To get a MBBS seat, a NEET-certified student has to apply for various counseling processes both at the state and national levels, making the MBBS admissions still difficult - even though NEET helps the candidates concentrate on a single entrance exam for MBBS admission. As a result, there is a great deal of misunderstanding and confusion about the real admission counseling procedure for MBBS admission among parents and applicants. In addition candidates with a respectable NEET score are not aware of the merit-based counseling that is available.
