• The All India Institute of Medical Sciences Patna originated from former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's visionary announcement during his August 15, 2003 Independence Day Address. This occurred under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) phase. A collaborative effort led to the establishment of six hospitals across the country, including Raipur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Rishikesh, and Patna. These hospitals aim to enhance healthcare, provide specialized medical education, and promote inclusivity in underserved regions. The institution's foundation was built through vital steps, including an Ordinance on July 16, 2012, and the enactment of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act on July 2, 2013, strengthening its autonomy.
