• Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS) is a top-notch medical college founded in 2015. A vision to set up the college was established in April 2014. Currently, Dr. Pragya Sharma is the director of the college and holds an MBBS degree and MD in community medicine from PGIMER, Rohtak. She also completed her master's in health care services from Sikkim Manipal University. Dr. Sharma launched her career at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi, in 2004. She also became the Professor of Community Medicine in 2016. She is the author of several research papers, publications, and books. Her professional career includes roles like Public Health Specialist for the Govt. of NCT, Delhi, and State Program Officer for the National Health Mission for NCT, Delhi.
• The college is 100% government-funded and is affiliated to Pondicherry University. It was established by the Andaman & Nicobar Medical Education and Research Society (ANIMERS). The college is located at DHS Annexe Building, Atlanta Point, Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
