• Southern Karnataka is home to the city of Chamarajanagar. The district government offices are located here at Chamarajanagar. In 1997, the government of Karnataka separated the district of Chamarajanagar from the larger community of Mysore to advance health, education, and social justice in the state.

• The government of Karnataka approved the medical college in 2013–14, and the school was given authority to provide 150 MBBS seats beginning in 2016 to provide medical services to the area.
