About College

• The foundation stone of Maharaja Jitendra Narayan Medical College & Hospital, Coochbehar was laid in 2017-18, and it officially started its academic activities in the 2019-20 session with the admission of the first batch of 100 MBBS students.
• The honorable Chief Minister of West Bengal, Smt. Mamata Bandopadhaya, inaugurated the college on 22nd February 2019, which is now celebrated as the "Foundation Day" every year.
• Coochbehar Government Medical College & Hospital is located in the city of Coochbehar in the state of West Bengal. Situated in the remote northern part of the state, the college serves as a medical hub for the people residing in this region.
• The college was founded under the auspices of the West Bengal government. The current Principal of Maharaja Jitendra Narayan Medical College & Hospital is Prof.(Dr.) Nirmal Kumar Mandal.
