About College

  • Dhaka National Medical College and Hospital, as a part of the Non-cooperation movement, Bangladesh first appeared in 1925 as the Dhaka National Medical Institute.
  • Following Bangladesh's independence in 1972, the college ceased operations, however, the connected hospital continued to operate. It also got its start in 1994, when it welcomed its first group of students back.
  • The 850-bed Dhaka National Medical Institute Hospital offers 24-hour emergency treatment. The academic building is close to a hospital. It offers a 5-year MBBS program that has been accredited by Dhaka University in Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).
  • Dhaka National Medical College is the MCI-approved medical college in Bangladesh. Professor Dr. Md. Shamsur Rahman is the acting principal of the college.

  • Library: About 6232 text and reference volumes in original print from publishers with the most recent editions are available in the library's extensive collection. For the improvement and expansion of medical experts, it has three (3) international journals and forty (40) local journals.

  • Hostels: Total: 93 rooms and 282 seats in the girl's hostel, and 229 rooms and 365 seats in the boy's hostel. The names of the male dormitories are Hazi Selim, Hazi Masum, Idris Ali, Sajjad H. Titu, and Sheikh Russel International Hostel, while the female dormitories are Abu Khayer and College Buildings.

  • Clinical Rotations: As a part of their medical education, students take part in clinical rotations. They receive practical training and exposure to a range of medical disciplines under the direction of qualified medical professionals.

  • Classrooms: For efficient instruction, the classrooms are furnished with audio-visual equipment including projectors and sound systems.

  • The college prioritizes maintaining a clean and healthy environment and arranges for place regular cleaning and pest control procedures.

  • Laboratory: The college is equipped with excellent labs that satisfy the practical needs of students in a range of areas.
