About College

  • With an average of 350–400 outpatient visits and 70 inpatient admissions each day, the Department of General Medicine is one of the busiest departments at DNMC. It tackles both general medical problems and medical emergencies.
  • Additionally, the department actively engages in teaching MBBS students through a variety of modalities, including lectures, clinics, grand rounds, student seminars, and journal clubs. The department offers rotations in a variety of specialties, including Radiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Medical Oncology, Chest Medicine, and Psychiatry, in addition to teaching General Medicine. This enables students to advance their studies and acquire exposure to a variety of medical specializations.
  • In addition, Psychiatry, Hospital Pharmacy, and Forensic Medicine Students are allowed to work in the Department of Medicine during rotations. In collaboration with DNMIH (Dhaka National Medical Institute Hospital), the Department of Medicine also participates in clinical research and pharmacological trials.
  • The department also plans to open a diabetes center, which will improve its community services even more. The Department of General Medicine at DNMC is dedicated to offering top-notch medical education and patient treatment.
