  • Gandhi Medical College, located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India, is a medical institution that has played an important role in medical education and in providing healthcare services.
  • The medical college building's foundation stone was laid on September 15, 1956, by Union Minister Shri Ballabh Pant. After seven years, the new building was inaugurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on March 13, 1963.
  • Presently, the college has 22 departments: the Medico-Legal Institute, Regional Eye Institute, and Cardiac Sciences Centre. The college offers Post Graduate Courses in multiple specialties and an upcoming course in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • Today, GMC, which has been an autonomous institute since 1997, looks ahead to a brighter future under the able leadership of the current Dean, Dr Prof. Arvind Rai.
