About College

• GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (GIMSR) is a private medical college in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in 2015 as a constituent college of GITAM University, a deemed-to-be university recognized by NAAC with an A+ grade. GIMSR offers undergraduate courses in MBBS and B.Sc. in four specializations: Anesthesia Technology, Radiology & Imaging Technology, Renal Dialysis Technology, and Optometry.
• The college has a 900-bed hospital with modern facilities and equipment. The founder of GITAM University and GIMSR was the late Dr. M.V.V.S. Murthi, a philanthropist and visionary who believed in the power of education to transform lives. The current dean of GIMSR is Dr. S. Babu Lal, a senior professor and former head of the general surgery department at Andhra Medical College.
