  • As a public sector healthcare facility, the Government of Kerala founded Konni Medical College. It was made for the people of Pathanamthitta district and focused on providing primary care to children and women. It was established in 2013 to provide specialist hospital care and efficient treatment facilities. Government Medical College, Konni, is situated on Nedumpara Hill, near Vattamon in Pathanamthitta District. 
  • Principal Dr. Miriam Varkey and Vice Principal Dr. Cessy Job of this college are promoting the healthcare system with their other trained and qualified team of professionals. With these facilities on a 50-acre campus, faculties here work to provide the best knowledge and take regular classes for MBBS students. PG courses must be started at the Government Medical College of Konni. The MBBS batch was started in 2022.

  • The medical college is located in a rural area and has a huge campus. It has separate hostels for boys and girls. The college has well-equipped labs for the study of pathology, pharmacology, physiology, community medicine, biochemistry, microbiology, forensic medicine, and anatomy.
  • The college also has an e-library with research materials, newspapers, magazines, and course books. Students can get ward postings in departments like orthopedics, general medicine, pediatrics, ICUs, general surgery, emergency, and more. The college also has a 300-bed hospital with test laboratories, ICU, OPD, nursing services, radiodiagnosis, and OT.
  • The college organizes workshops, conferences, and other annual events. It offers the M.B.B.S. course.

Scholarship

  • The Kerala Government has been offering the state government's MBBS-BPL scholarship. Students belonging to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category and studying in this college can also get this scholarship. However, obtaining it requires certain criteria, such as clearing first-year exams and having a BPL certificate.
