• Under the governance of the Government of Kerala, the sixth government medical college came into being as Government Medical College, Manjeri. This milestone was achieved on 1 September 2013, marked by the inauguration led by the Kerala Chief Minister at that time, Oommen Chandy. The college stands affiliated with the esteemed Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS).
• Each academic year, the institution welcomes an intake of 110 students for the MBBS program. Notably, this achievement holds great significance as it signifies the first government-sector medical college established within the state in 31 years. It stands as a tangible realization of a cherished aspiration for the most densely populated district in Kerala. Dr Geetha N is the present principal of the institution.
