  • Situated in Kerala, Government Medical College (GMC) Thrissur, established in 1982, is a premier medical institution nationally renowned for its outstanding healthcare contributions since its inception. Serving as the primary medical facility in this region, it extends its services across three Kerala districts and neighboring areas in Tamil Nadu. Under the oversight of the Government of Kerala, the college operates under the Directorate of Medical Education. The institute is currently headed by Prof. Sheela B.

  • The Government Medical College in Thrissur has a library that's spread across 978 square meters and is fully air-conditioned. The library has different areas for reading and studying, including a stack room and various reading rooms.
  • The students' reading room can hold up to 75 students at a time. There's also a reading room for staff with space for 50 people and another room for postgraduate students with seating for 30.
  • The college also has two examination halls covering an area of 200 square meters each. These halls can accommodate 150 students each. Additionally, six lecture theaters are available, with five located within the college and one in the hospital. 
  • These lecture theaters have audiovisual aids and can seat 200 people in the college and 100 in the hospital.
  • For accommodation, the Government Medical College in Thrissur provides separate hostels for both boys and girls right on campus. Round-the-clock electricity and water facilities are provided in the hostels. Furnished and air-conditioned rooms are available in all the hostel accommodations. 
  • There are visitor rooms, study rooms with internet and computers, and a mess hall providing hygienic food. 

Scholarship

Both the central government and the state government offer a scholarship. This scholarship gives you 30,000 rupees every year. This money is the same as the fee you need to pay for your studies.
