  • Guru Gobind Singh Medical College & Hospital is a leading Punjab Government institute founded in 1973.
  • It is a constituent college of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. The institute is near Sadiq Road, Kotakpura, GGS Medical Hospital, Faridkot, Punjab, India. 
  • Giani Zail Singh, Chief Minister of Punjab introduced medical college to Faridkot . This College was transferred to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, as its constituent Medical College in October 2006.
  • The Medical Council of India recognized it for 50 MBBS admissions per year in 2010. Later on, the College was permitted to increase the MBBS seats to 100 for the academic year 2013- ‘14 onwards 2013 by the Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
  • The institute is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. The current principal of the College is Dr Rajeev Sharma.

Curriculum for Academics: The students are provided with hands-on training by experienced tutors in the wards and patient departments, where they interact with patients for five years of their undergraduate course. Other than MBBS, the institute also provides teaching alongwith training to all the Postgraduates in the subjects of Anatomy, Pathology, Community Medicine, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine,Pharmacology,  and so on. Teaching includes theory and practical training. .
  5. Hospital: The Guru Gobind Singh Hospital has 1000 beds, and 60 beds for critical care units. The institute also has started super-specialization facilities in the departments of Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Neurology, and so on. The Hospital is also fully equipped with modern Blood Bank facilities.
  6. Food and Accommodation Facilities: Provision for food is available at the cafeteria for both students and patients. The students are provided with accommodation at the hostels. There are separate hostels for a safe stay for both boys as well as girls.
