  • The Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India, is a prominent medical school. It is one of the nation's oldest medical schools connected to Banaras Hindu University (BHU). In 1960, the BHU Institute of Medical Sciences was founded. It was earlier called the Institute of Medical Sciences of Banaras Hindu University but was later renamed the College of Medical Sciences by that institution.
  • Dr K.N. Udupa, a doctor and pioneer in medical education, founded the Institute of Medical Sciences. He was a crucial figure in the foundation and growth of the institute. Prof. Ashok Kumar is currently serving as dean of the Institute of Medical Sciences.
