In Nellimarla, Vizianagaram District, Andhra Pradesh, Maharajah's Institute of Medical Sciences, supported by Sri Rama Educational Trust, was established in 2003. Previously, it was difficult for the people within the Vizianagaram district and the neighbouring communities to find adequate medical facilities for their health issues or medical education for their children.
However, since the foundation of this college, those problems have been resolved, and the inhabitants of these districts now feel secure. This is one of Uttarandhra's oldest private medical colleges. The founder of the college is Murthy Raju.
This institution and other distinct patient treatment programs introduced Kanna Thalli Padakam for expectant mothers. The institute has conducted hundreds of medical camps, which has helped it gain a lot of public support.
Because of the institute's unwavering efforts to provide the most outstanding medical care following the requirements of people, it has always held a special place in the hearts of the populace.
The management has a clear vision to elevate this facility to the level of a Deemed University and to broaden their focus to address the requirements of the patients.
The college has 13 buildings totalling 9 00,000 square feet of space.
Labs
There is a well-equipped central laboratory that is open around the clock and has a centralized assortment for all histology, haematology, immunopathology, microbiology, cytopathology and biochemistry studies.
The OPD Block's basement floor houses a fully functional clinical biochemistry and haematology lab that serves the requirements of both inpatients and outpatients.
Library
When the college began activities in 2003, the MIMS Central Library was founded.
It has developed into a library of 12,511 medical books and 20,200 bound journals, including yearly subscriptions to 100 Indian magazines and 54 foreign periodicals that cover different medical topics. Year after year, it continues to experience steady development.

The facilities include a library with air conditioning, laboratories with sufficient equipment, lecturers, and lab staff. Additionally, the classrooms feature air conditioning and adequate lighting. Mess, as well as a canteen, offers average meals. There are sports facilities like basketball and volleyball courts and a cricket field. Seriously very satisfied by taking admission to this college.

One hundred fifty students attend our college, with 50 per cent belonging to the A category and 50 per cent each from B and C. Upon passing their final year courses, students are moved into internships at the university for a year. Many opportunities are available after training. As a student here I can proudly say that my college is the best and I will never regret the decision of getting admission here.
