• Maharashtra Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Latur, also known as MIMSR Medical College, Latur, was one of the distinguished institutions established by the eminent educational visionary, Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, in 1990, under his trust MAEER MIT World Peace Centre, Pune.
• More than 40 years of teaching experience as both an undergraduate and postgraduate professor prompted Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad to fulfill his dream of realizing a value-based universal education system for the youth of India. 
• Maharashtra Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Latur, is ably guided by its dean, Dr. Nawab Pashasaheb Jamadar.
