About College

  • A constituent institute of Bhaikaka University, Pramukhswami Medical College (PSMC) was founded in 1987. The Medical Council of India (MCI) gave it recognition. It accepts 150 students each year. It offers a five-and-a-half-year program, which culminates in the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degrees after one year of required internship. The H M Patel Institute of Advanced Studies, which has 96 seats available, also offers postgraduate courses in several general specialties.
  • The college aims to plan educational, social, cultural, and philanthropic events for PSMC alumni to promote brotherhood among one another. They serve as a point of contact for PSMC's current students, faculty, staff, and administration. The college provides PSMC, as well as Shri Krishna Hospital, Karamsad, with financial support for their work in research, community health, education, and medical treatment. Additionally, they encourage alumni to utilize the medical and community health services provided through Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad. 
  • Dr. Himanshu Pandya is a graduate of NHL Municipal Medical College in Ahmedabad and an affiliate of CMCL-FAIMER (2007–2008). He also holds the degrees of MBBS, MD (Medicine), and PGDHPE. Since 1987, he has been a part of Pramukhswami Medical College as the Dean.

Infrastructure And Facilities 

Library 

  • PSMC features a top-notch library setup. According to MCI standards, the Central Library subscribes to most of the national and international journals needed by faculty, undergraduate, and graduate students. The Internet, CD-ROMs, laptops, multimedia devices, and photocopying equipment are all included in its modern amenities. 
  • It also has a subscription to the Online Journal bundle, which includes more than 1000 periodicals. The hours of the central library are 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. Two databases hosted by EBSCO and MD-consult, to which the library is additionally subscribed, allow online access to the full texts of publications from various periodicals. 
  • All required textbooks are accessible for students who choose to have them given in multiple copies. Each department has a Departmental Library in addition to the main Central Library. In addition, the total number of books is 14499. 

Campus 

  • There are 7 lecture halls in the gallery style. Three of the AC lecture halls have a capacity of 182. Another hall has a capacity of 300. Also, there are two with a capacity of 100 and one with a capacity of 200. Other facilities are modern audiovisual tools, including LCD projectors, audio systems, whiteboards, and internet access. Every department contains its own UG and PG laboratories. 
  • They have all the necessary tools and resources to disperse practical skills and knowledge. Each department includes a separate seminar room and library. The teaching faculty, as well as learners, have access to enough volumes in departmental libraries. Everywhere it is necessary, departments have museums. For boys and girls, separate common areas with typical amenities are available.
