About College

  • As a teaching hospital affiliated with GMC, the GGH has been meeting the requirements of individuals by providing services like dialysis, blood banks, and so forth. In the recent times of the COVID-19 pandemic, the VDRL situated at GMC stood as a backbone to the healthcare facilities within the district with more than 800 oxygen beds, comprising ICUS with 1OKL & 20 KL liquid oxygen plants.
  • This college and hospital were created in 2020. Thousands of COVID cases have been admitted while being monitored by the COVID control room within the GMC. The present dean of the college is Dr Shivraj Pandian.

Campus

  • The total area of this Government Medical College campus is 17,511 square meters. The structures of the college take up 11,600 square meters. 


  • 48,800 square meters is the entire area of the hospital buildings, including the OPD block. This college facility includes two exam rooms, each accommodating 125 students. This medical school has five lecture halls.

Labs

The Pathology department of this hospital is in charge of the leading clinical laboratory; however, other divisions, including Microbiology, Hematology, and Biochemistry, are also available. There are ten operating rooms within the hospital, eight of which are central and two minor.

  • It has two reading rooms having a combined capacity of 75 students, one inside and one outside. This library has 7218 books and 82 periodicals, comprising ten foreign and 72 Indian publications. The digital library at this college has 25 PCs as well as the amenities needed.
