About College

  • As the Chinese People's Liberation Army prepared to liberate Xinjiang in 1949, Wang Zhen, the First Corps commander, gave the order to establish the Health School of the First Corps of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, which later evolved into Shihezi Medical College and was the forerunner of Shihezi University.
  • Shihezi University was established in 1996 with the merger of Shihezi Medical College, Shihezi Agricultural College, Corps Economics College, and Corps Teachers College.
  • The Central Government designated the Shihezi University School of Medicine, which is situated in Shihezi City, Province of Xinjiang, as a highly significant institution in 2000. This Chinese medical university has developed into a vibrant academic center with cutting-edge study spaces. There are currently 20 institutions, 21,988 undergraduate students, 1,906 postgraduate students, and more than 30,032 students from India and other countries enrolled in the total.

1. Campus

There is only one main campus and it is located in Shihezi, Xinjiang.

3. Library

There is a common library with a rich collection of books, and journals. Students have access to many resources, and the faculty members upload their lectures online on the portal.

4. Hospitals

There are 4 affiliated hospitals and other 26 teaching and clinical practice hospitals. The Shihezi University’s First Affiliated Hospital Medical College boasts the title of A-Degree in Level-three Hospitals and the 100 Best Hospitals in P.R. China. The First Affiliated Hospital has 1200 beds. 

5. Hostels

The Shihezi University Medicine School’s hostel fees annually will be 5000 RMB per student (one room is shared by two students). The hostel room deposit will be 250 RMB. The rooms will be equipped with a color TV, fridge, and all the furniture for 2 students including bedding and quilts. Internet connection, hot running water, heating system, phone connection, and laundry services will be inclusive in the deposit and hostel fee.

Scholarships

There are basically four types of scholarships. Here are the following:

  • University Scholarship: This is open to all the students of the university based on their merit.
  • Chinese Local Government Scholarships: This scholarship is available to all students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Confucius Institute Scholarship: This is open to new students opting for a Master’s degree full-time.
  • Chinese Government Scholarship: International and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan undergraduate students may receive up to RMB 44,000 (or 50% of tuition) each year for academic performance.
