• The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) founded the Smt. Nathiba Hargovandas Lakhmichand Municipal Medical College, also known as Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College, in 1963. It lies in the cultural and educational hub of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Its goal is to promote patient care, medical research, and academic programs.
• Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College has a well-established infrastructure that gives students a conducive learning environment. The college campus has 25 acres of land and a serene environment. The college has spacious classrooms with central air conditioning and a capacity of more than 250 students. 
• The founder of Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College was Amritlal Hargovinddas, and its current dean is Dr. Cherry K. • Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College offers various scholarships to eligible students to support their education. Since its inception in 2008, the National Scholarships program at Smt N H L Municipal Medical College has been providing academically outstanding students with a family income below Rs. 4.5 lakh per annum with a scholarship.
• This initiative aims to provide a total of 82,000 annual scholarships (41,000 for male students and 41,000 for female students). The allocation of scholarships to various State Education Boards is based on each state's population within the age group of 18 to 25 years.
• Also, Students pursuing MBBS/BDS courses through the Gujarat Medical Education Research Society (GMERS) are eligible for the MYSY scholarship. This scholarship provides financial support, offering an annual amount of INR 2,00,000 or 50% of their tuition fees, whichever is lower.
