About College

  • Sree Balaji Medical College & Hospital was established in 1984 by the Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust to provide quality medical education. In 2004 it became part of the Bharath Institute of Higher Education & Research. From 2003-2004 forward, the hospital began with 100 graduate M.B.B.S. admissions per academic year.
  • The college began offering postgraduate programs in numerous specialties beginning in the academic year 2009–2010. Currently, it operates with a yearly intake of 250 admissions for the M.B.B.S. undergraduate medical program and offers 163 seats (M.D., M.S., and D.M.) for the different postgraduate and super specialty degrees. Dr. W.M.S. Johnson, M.D., Ph.D., is the institution's dean. 

  • The Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust was founded in 1984. The charity has set the lofty goal of developing cardinal professional education institutions in various areas. The center allows our youth to pursue a professional degree of their choice.
  • The Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust established the Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (B.I.H.E.R.) to provide advanced knowledge in science and technology to help students achieve their goals in the fields of medicine and engineering.

3. Hostel

Boys and girls are given different housing options in hostels, with undergraduates having dual occupancy and postgraduates having single occupancy. Hostels for undergraduates and graduates can hold roughly 1000 students, and the rooms are equipped with basic amenities. Along with running water and a 24-hour electricity supply, the hostel is equipped with hot water.
