About College


  • Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute (SRMCRI) is a private non-profit institute located in Porur, Chennai. It was founded in 1985 by Shri N.P.V. Ramasamy Udayar, the chairman of Sri Ramachandra Educational & Health Trust. Under the University Grants Commission Act, it was granted "Deemed to be University" status in 1994.
  • The institute offers 150 UG and PG programs in health care sciences with a faculty strength of around 950. At present more than 6,500 students receive teaching and training under the faulty. The college offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and higher specialty courses in various branches of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, and biomedical sciences.

Scholarships 

  • The college offers the Founder-Chancellor Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for meritorious students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who are undergoing courses of study in the constituent units of the University.
  • This scholarship covers 25% to 100% of the tuition fee, depending on the student's income level and academic performance. It is awarded to 10% of the students admitted to each course annually. It is also renewable every year, subject to maintaining a minimum of 75% attendance and 60% marks in each semester. The scholarship is also available for students admitted under the management or NRI quotas.
