Infrastructure and Facilities

Library: Utilizing both barcode technology and software developed internally, the library is completely automated. To make searching easier, an OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) has been developed, and two terminals are available for use. Each department has its own departmental library with 100–110 books in addition to the central library. Clinical material comprises summaries of medical topics, full-text books and periodicals, photographs, videos, and more. Clinical Overviews: brief, user-friendly monographs with quick answers for at-the-point medical care. Topic Pages: brief summaries of risk factors, clinical symptoms, therapies, and epidemiology of diseases, among other topics. Full-Text Books: The esteemed 1055 medical and surgical books published by Elsevier, such as Braunwald's Heart Disease, Goldman's Cecil Medicine, and Gray's Anatomy videos and articles that break down procedures step-by-step to assist clinicians learn new abilities or brush up on their existing ones.


Medical Education Unit: In 2006, the Medical Education Unit (MEU) was founded. Through its core members who have received training in Advance Course Medical Education (ACME), the MEU aims to instruct the medical faculty on medical education technologies. Through the Curriculum Implementation Committee, the MEU guarantees ongoing enhancements to the planning, execution, and assessment of the teaching and learning process in accordance with the new Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) in Undergraduates and Postgraduates curriculum of the National Medical Council of India. The medical college has successfully implemented foundation courses, early clinical exposure, family adoption programs, problem-based and case-based learning during bedside teaching and through simulation centers, electives, and vertical and horizontal integrated teaching. These initiatives have been made possible by the development of faculty capacity in medicine.


Hostel: The SRM Medical College's APJ. ABDUL KALAM Hostel offers contemporary, well-equipped lodging for students. The hostel is a fifteen-story building with 262 furnished rooms that are all equipped with modern conveniences. The hostel provides both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned lodging to accommodate various student needs. Depending on availability, there are single and double-occupancy options for the rooms. The hostel's online ERP payment system is one of its primary features. Students may now easily track their lodging expenditures and make payments. In order to keep themselves in shape, the hostel also features a fully functional gym for its residents. All over the hostel, there is high-speed Wi-Fi to make sure students can stay connected.


Ladies Hostel: For female students studying medical, health, and related health science degrees, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre provides three hostels: Dr. Muthulakshmi Hostel, Dr. B.C. Roy Hostel, and Nightingale Hostel. The hostels have all the conveniences of today, including air conditioning and non-air conditioning.
