  • XXMU has a history that dates back approximately 100 years to the Western Medicine Clinic that a Britishman by the name of Lohyde founded in Weihui City in 1896.
  • The Clinic was transformed by a Canadian missionary into the Boji Hospital in 1903, later expanded and given the name Huimin Hospital.
  • The Huimin Hospital Nursing School was established in 1922 by a Canadian named Witlif, who enrolled four-year nursing students who had earned certifications from the Chinese Nursing Association (renamed the Chinese Council of Nurses in 1923). 
  • The Xinxiang Medical University (Chinese:) is in Xinxiang, the northernmost city in the Henan province of China. The school's origins can be traced back to the Western medicine clinic Dr. Luo Weiling established in the ancient city of Weihui in 1896. Beginning in 1922, the Huimin Hospital Nursing School began offering medical education. Wu Weidong is the current dean of the college.
