• Darbhanga Medical College is a well-known medical school and one of Bihar's oldest and most prestigious. King Rameshwar Singh of the Khandavala Dynasty played a key role in building the medical college. During a visit by Prince Khandavala I in 1925, Rameshwar Singh asked him to check out a medical school in Patna called the 'Temple of Medical Learning.' The Prince was impressed and offered to upgrade it to a college.

• Originally in Patna, the school was supposed to move to Muzaffarpur, but Rameshwar Singh proposed Darbhanga instead. He gave land and money to set up the college in Darbhanga.
• At first, the college was in what's now the police hospital near Lohia Chowk. The King paid money to move it. Later, his son Kameshwar Singh transformed the 'Temple of Medical Learning' into Darbhanga Medical College in 1946.
•  The college is located in Darbhanga, Bihar, India, affiliated with the Aryabhatta Knowledge University and holding recognition from the Medical Council of India (MCI). The college is under the leadership of Dr. K.N. Mishra, who holds an MBBS and MD in Pediatrics.
