• Spread across a colossal ground of more than 55 acres, The Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences is located in the heart of the city of Jalandhar. The college was established in 1999 and was considered to be the first medical college cum teaching hospital in the Doaba region. It was gestated as a Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode by the Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences Society.
• Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences Medical and Education Charitable Society, Department of Medical Education & Research, and the Government of Punjab. Affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, this medical school is considered to be a tertiary care teaching hospital. 
• Currently, this college is doing remarkably well under the administration of Resident Director Mr. Amit Singh and Director Principal Dr. Rajiv Arora, whose immaculate medical experience spans over 30 years.
• The institute has been a pioneer in imparting medical knowledge and shaping young minds and has 6 M.B.B.S. batches that include interns, bragging a total number of more than 750 burgeoning doctors. This medical college is the most sought-after institute in the region that sees about 150 fresh intakes in each batch, annually. 
• Apart from nurturing the best minds in the field of medicine, the Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences is well-known for its charitable and philanthropic activities. They regularly organize medical camps and check-ups in 15 nearby villages surrounding the city that have limited medical facilities.
• The institute has been actively engaged in raising awareness against drug and substance abuse by educating the masses, organizing Nukkad Nataks, and offering free check-ups. In their battle against alcoholism and substance abuse, they also started a campaign called “Nasha Mukti Abhiyan” in 2015 to reach out to a larger population to make these villages drug-free.

• Hospitals: The affiliated hospital of the institution has a 650 bedded capacity and treats over 1500 patients every day on average. There are 13 major and 7 minor operation theatres in the hospital.

• Library: Central Library with working hours from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M.

Girls Hostel: Ist, IIIrd, IVth Floor of Hostel Block

Boys Hostel: Separate Block Ground Floor and Ist Floor

• Transportation: Facilities for Students, Interns, Staff, and Supportive Staff. 2 buses, 2 vehicles and 2 ambulances are available.

• Food: Both normal and special diet food is available for students, interns, staff, and patients.
